It took her over a week and a half to start walking on it. The whole week in San Diego she REFUSED to walk on it. Everyone tried to get her to take some steps and we all encouraged her and tried to make it exciting but she wanted NOTHING to do with it. She is so stubborn. I think she gets that from Todd. :) :)
On Saturday we get to the airport to leave and Todd and I are trying once again to get her to walk on it. Todd asks her to throw something away in the trash can around the corner and she takes it and starts walking. We couldn't believe it. She waits until we leave to go home to start walking. I guess I shouldn't complain. She walking right???

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm-ObDqt2pw6EbMZO5QfqfqssUhy3bI0Zsql7f-YnUb1sXfXZn8b74EzXAheP8RTCa1pX71M9DSMKJ5EPoBz6RoTvmqOuWLcCjm2vc_2VUCMnDhTPvYtcumM4yZ44XOewAIWJBD-JgL_s/s320/Kinzi+053.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340716387741489938" />
Here she is at the condo. I gave in with the whole binkie thing. I HATE the binkie. I don't have the patience to wing her off it. At home she only gets it at bed time. But on vacation she got it whenever she wanted it, I couldn't take the whinning. It seemed like it never ended. So I LOVED the binkie that week.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj46rc-U3wks7hbCyiGU1do3uHYHhZNyBbJ35Xpk3w5YSOMkqjM5rG96xj9j3VqPs91TTtTLgmNZngsGiNKLszUiQTewrwLT_6VkmXazSdJjNEwnGAs7jPazCgQp4nYiGN6RwTs9X_W3oQ/s320/Kinzi+002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5340716385962850962" />

Logan and Kinzi

Today Kinzi got her cast off and they put her in a boot. I haven't taken any pictures of her in the boot yet but it's a lot bigger then the cast. I thought for sure she'd wait another week to start walking again but she's getting around in it pretty good. So 3 more weeks with the boot and we should be good to go. Luckily we can take it off at bed time, bath time and going to the pool. She seems to be much happier with this. She took about a half hour bath tonight. She loves to soak in the tub.Bobbi Phillipshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14667207815709571675noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2070074431925289006.post-45068548358929428472009-05-27T21:28:00.003-06:002009-05-27T21:43:42.228-06:00San Diego Part 1

We had a fun time visiting the Wild Animal Park in San Diego. Monday night Kinzi fell playing at the playground and has not one but TWO bone fractures on her right leg. I felt soooo bad. She is obsessed with playing on the BIG kid toys at the playground. And I mean Big Kid toys. I've only ever seen 9-10 year old play on it. (well except for us, we let our 3 yr old play on it). I'm not even sure what it's called. It's this thing that you hang on and slide or glide across the bar to the other end. Once Kinz saw other kids doing it that's all she EVER wanted to do. Forget the slides or swings. She HAD to HANG on this bar and slide across it. Well, Todd and I gave in, Todd would stand at one end and I at the other. She has a DEATH GRIP so we knew she could hold herself up. (I mean, if she can't hold up a whooping 20 pounds then she's in trouble). We've been to the park numerous times and that's all she does. She had to have slid across that thing at least 50 times and she's NEVER let go. Well, except for Monday night. For some reason she decided to let go. After about 1 hour of crying non-stop and Todd and I feeling everywhere, we came to the conclusion that she must have just twisted her leg. She had NO swelling, bruising and no bones were sticking out. (that's always a GOOD sign, right) I thought we'd miraculously escaped going to the ER. Between the terrifying death drop and the possible bruising I thought she'd be okay within the next day or 2. Well to say the least I was dead WRONG. It was my babysitter after having had her for 1/2 hour call me at work to tell me she thought I should take her to the ER and get it x-rayed. She thought it might be more. So grudgingly I took her to the ER at Primary Children's. Mind you, we were JUST at Primary Children's not 4 days before that. Ye, that's right. Kinzi had to have the tubes in her ears taken out and replaced. One of them was infected and fluid was building up behind it so we had to get that fixed. And not to mention that last month Kinzi fell from one of the bar stools face first onto the kitchen floor. I thought for sure she had head trauma. And after throwing up numerous times we took her to the ER up at Primary's and had to have a CT scan and all the fun test. LUCKILY it was only a concussion, I thought for sure it was worse because she had no swelling or goose eggs on her forehead. So I was thinking it was another visit to the ER and hopefully they would notice the numerous visits within the last month. After 1 1/2 hours of waiting we finally got the x-ray done and I was SHOCKED. 2 bone fractures on the lower part of her right leg. I couldn't believe it. I felt AWFUL. I wasn't even going to take her in.
So needless to say I am NOT getting the mother of the year award. Unless they give one for the most CARELESS mother of the year. I would win hands down. So this is what Kinzi gets to wear for a week....

She's not quite understanding what is going on. She keeps trying to take it off. She has to wait until next Wednesday to get the cast put on. Then it will be around 3-4 weeks with the cast on. We are leaving next weekend for San Diego and the poor little girl has to have a cast on for her "first" vacation. I'm hoping she'll have the hang of walking around on it before we leave. It will not be much fun for her nor us having to hold her the whole time.
Bobbi Phillipshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14667207815709571675noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2070074431925289006.post-17237197095132497132009-04-16T20:54:00.003-06:002009-04-16T21:20:23.353-06:00EASTERSo Easter at our house was a little on the boring side. I only have 2 pictures from the day. I was too busy videoing the event that I didn't take pictures. I haven't figured out how to video and take pictures at the same time. Kinzi was excited to see the goodies. Once she saw the Barney DVD she was done. She HAD to watch it right at that moment. She loved the yellow duck that my cousin Anna brought with her from South Carolina(thanks aunt Regina, it was a big hit).

Anna's (my cousin who stayed with us on Sat. night) Kinzi's and Todd's Easter Baskets

Yes, Todd got an Easter basket. We were a little sad we didn't have family to spend it with this year. But I was soooo excited to have Todd home this year. This was his FIRST Easter Sunday home. He's usually away at basketball tournaments with his all-star team.

On a side note, the below picture is of one of the walls in Kinzi's play room. I decided to do vinyl lettering on one wall. My neighbor has the machine to make the lettering so I had her do the alphabet for me. I think it turned out great. It matches great with the colors of her chairs. It makes a big difference in the room. Kinzi has no excuse now not the learn her alphabet. :) :)

Bobbi Phillipshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14667207815709571675noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2070074431925289006.post-77792506255605831812009-04-12T15:38:00.003-06:002009-04-12T16:02:34.767-06:00HoT TuBiN'While the Edgerton Family was here visiting us a couple weeks back we decided to take the boys and Kinzi swimming at Chad's parents hotel. Kinzi LOVES to swim but ONLY if it's in very warm or hot water, it can't even be luke warm. (I wonder where she gets that from) When we get there she heads straight for the pool but once in she realizes it's not too warm. They won their 1st every National Championship this evening. I'm so excited for Todd and the team. They had an awesome week in Kansas. I wish I could have been there. They will just have to go back next year and do it again so that I can go.

The 2008-2009 Team

CONGRATULATIONS
Bobbi Phillipshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14667207815709571675noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2070074431925289006.post-458315351910750062009-03-07T22:32:00.003-07:002009-03-07T23:00:33.211-07:00KANGAROO ZOOI'm a little behind on my posting. I've had these pictures I've been wanting to post on our visit to the Kangaroo Zoo when Jared, Tonya and Logan came down for a visit. It was the first time we've been there and Kinzi and Logan LOVED it. They couldn't get enough of all the slides. Kinzi was a pro at climbing up the ladder. Which 90% of the time looks like a tornado hit it, sometimes I wonder why I even bother to make it look cute and fun. But on Saturday I was able to buy the last item needed (yes it was seriously needed....okay wanted really badly) from Costco. I've been wanting the matching bookshelf to match her table and chairs that Santa (aka my mother-in-law) bought her for Christmas. I've been telling myself for 2 months that she'd (or myself) would just have to go without. But Costco came through for me and had the matching bookshelf $90 off the original price. (I had NO clue Costco had sales, but luckily for me the do) Now I still need to do an accent wall of some sort and add some pictures or something....the walls are a little boring, but all in due time. I'll take any volunteers who'd like to come and help paint.....any takers????

On a side note.....I finally got a bedroom set. THANK YOU Todd for finally caving in and letting me get it. He was wanting a bigger flat screen for the living room but I told him that having bedroom furniture was more important. She likes to climb up but when it comes to getting down she's terrified. She'll start to get down and then she'll start shaking and screaming bloody murder. Usually she's only 2 inches from the ground. She's obsessed with climbing onto the island in the kitchen and the table. Or she'll push the chair around to all the light switches and turn them on and off 100 hundred times. She really likes the light switch at the top of the stairs and will pull one of her chairs from her play room right to the edge of the stairs just so she can reach those light switches. I can just see her now....tumbling down the stairs with the chair following.

No sort of discipline seems to work with this child....and nothing seems to bug her so you can't take anything away, you can't get mad at her, can't give her "the look" or send her to time out. We left the Thursday before Christmas, hurrying to miss the big storm that was to come through on Friday. (Not sure if it ever came through but who cares, I got to leave work a day early)

We spent the week getting last minute items and spending time with family. Luckily I had finished most of my shopping before we got to Boise, but NOT Todd. He hadn't even started so on Saturday he and his Dad spent the day shopping and then on Monday his sister was nice enough to go with him. (I'm not a big fan of shopping with Todd) He enjoys getting everyone a "UNIQUE" gift, not something they want or would expect. Me on the other hand likes to get everyone what they want and not what they don't want. But he always ends up getting good gifts. I've never been disappointed. Except this year, don't know what he was thinking with the 2 turtle neck sweaters he got me....???? Thank goodness for exchanges. (I still love you though babe, there is always next year to redeem yourself) But I did LOVE everything else you got me!!!! THANK YOU

My mother-in-law had decided to surprise Kinzi and Logan (my sister-in-law Tonya's son) with a play kitchen. So Clancey (my father-in-law) spent around 3 hours putting it together and kept in hidden in their basement for the big surprise on Christmas morning. Well.....it didn't quite work out that way. Kinzi and Logan love to play on the stairs and one afternoon the door to the basement was left open and they of coarse spotted that and headed straight for the basement. Sally had been watching the kids and thought they were playing nicely in the bedroom with all the other toys. I had just finished shopping with my mom and came home and the kids were no where to be found. We looked everywhere. The only possible place for them to have gone was the basement. (But when we looked downstairs the door was closed and neither of them can open doors yet) We decided to take a look anyways, and there they were playing with the kitchen. So we decided to bring it up and let them play with it...

They played with it for at least one hour straight. (If only that was the case) Instead we got a little girl who threw up all over the recliner and luckily Todd's gifts and not someone else's. So while Todd and I cleaned up the mess, my sister-in-law Tara and Sally gave Kinzi a bath and got her all cleaned up. Luckily she was done after that but trying to go back to sleep was a little difficult for her. So around 5:30 she finally fell back to sleep.

Needless to say our Christmas morning didn't start until around 10:00. That's when Todd, Kinzi and I decided to wake back up from the long night. Unfortunately that made everyone else wait for us. They were very patient and didn't complain. (well at least not to us they didn't)

We had a great Christmas morning. Thanks Todd for the Camcorder. We can finally get some video of Kinzi. I still can't believe we went almost 3 years without one. We closed on the house last Wednesday and got the keys on Thursday. I'm so excited to get in and get settled again. (Minus the moving) We thought for sure we'd be renting through the winter but we just couldn't pass up this house. We first looked at it in July but we hadn't sold our house and it was priced way too high. We got lucky with the market going down and plus the fact that this builder had at least 4 houses they were sitting on.
Once we get settled in I will post more pictures of the house. Looking at empty rooms are just not the same. My awesome in-laws and driving back to SLC on Tuesday to help us move AGAIN. They are the best. They've made the drive every time we've moved to help out. What can I say but Thank You Thank You Thank You!!!!
Stay tuned for more pictures later.Bobbi Phillipshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14667207815709571675noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2070074431925289006.post-85865646506189401562008-11-10T21:53:00.006-07:002008-11-10T22:20:57.253-07:00COUSINS!!!
Over Halloween weekend we got to enjoy a fun visit from Travis, Miaaka and their kids. She was NOT a fan of all the costume. Especially those that included hats or masks. She hated her poodle costume too. It freaked her out for the 1st couple days just looking at it. Finally we got her warmed up enough to at least put it on for a few pictures and to visit one house but as soon as we got there she took off the top. Hopefully she'll grow out of this stage. There were so many cute costumes I wanted to buy her but she wouldn't have anything to do with them. So needless to say our halloween was uneventful. As soon as we got home (mind you we only went to 1 house) she was ready for bed. Maybe next year will be a little more exciting.

I hope all of your halloween evening were a little more exciting.
Bobbi Phillipshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14667207815709571675noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2070074431925289006.post-66204416996467683522008-10-29T12:43:00.007-06:002008-10-29T14:02:33.023-06:00FLU SEASON!?!?

Our precious girl is now snuggling up to her baby with her nice warm blanket in her bed sleeping (makes me want to go join her)....bless her little heart. I hope she's feeling back to her normal soon. I hate seeing her like this.

Tis the season. Kinzi is once again SICK!!! I thought we were through being sick for the year. (She was sick with a viral infection about 3-4 weeks ago and that lasted for a full week) I even got our Flu Shots early this year to avoid getting getting the flu. Well, it didn't work. The poor thing started getting sick again on Sunday as soon as we got home from church. With NO warning she is throwing up. She just can't get a break. At least this time there are no fevers, blisters in and on her month, swollen gums nor sore throats. This time she's been vomiting, not eating (of all things she wants it's a bottle with milk, the worst possible thing) nor can she get comfortable and hasn't been sleeping...and you know what that means...if she doesn't sleep, neither do you. There's nothing fun about having to watch a video at 4:30 A.M....and then deciding after 2 minutes it's not what she wanted and she wants to go back to bed. Then she's out. By that time I'm awake and it takes FOREVER to get back to sleep, and then the process starts all over again. But it's Wednesday and I think she's on the down side of things. She's starting to eat a bit more and she's finally starting to sleep. YEA!!!! She slept through the night last night. (oh I can't tell you how much I love that) I don't handle having to get up numerous times at night cleaning up vomit, then giving her a bath cuz we didn't catch it in time and then having to throw in a load of laundry with all the towels, sheets and pj's that ended up getting dirty. I've lost count at how many loads of laundry that I've done this week and I'm still not done.

Here she is a couple weeks ago with her sores....They were awful!!

(notice her chipped tooth...I have no clue where or when that happened)

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262659141139854050" style="WIDTH: 254px; It took selling our house and moving into a rental for me to get internet at home. Yes, you read correctly. Todd and I didn't have internet at home. We haven't for at least 3 years. I know what you're all thinking, how did we survive. We'll to tell you the truth, I'm not sure. But now that we have it at home (we've had it for the last 2 days) I can't believe we went 3 years without it. So now I've got to learn how to download pictures from my camera to my computer and then from the computer to this blog....no telling how long that's going to take. (Hopefully not 3 years)

So Todd and I sold our house. We closed on Monday. YEA!! I'm so glad that part is over, but now the task of finding a house is a little crazy. We've looked at so many houses over the last 3 months that I'm SOOOO sick of looking. But this house we're renting is so small that we've got to find something. We're on top of each other here.

Todd started a new job. He's the head assistant basketball coach at Salt Lake Community College. We're excited for him. It's a great change of pace and something different. And he likes it there so that's all that matters. I'm excited for him. The season starts on the 24th of October. What a great birthday gift for me....I hope he remembers. (I think putting it on the calender will help....I've just got to remind him to look at the calender)

Kinzi is doing great. She is into EVERYTHING. She's the happiest, most easy going baby EVER. I couldn't have asked for a better child. She has finally decided to take a liking to her baby dolls. We can't leave the house without them. She screams the whole time we give her a bath because she can't take them in the tub with her. Todd's not too happy about the attachment to the baby dolls. He's trying to get her to take a liking to the basketball he bought her for christmas last year....needless to say she's not to excited about it. But he's determined to have her LOVE basketball. Maybe one of these days she'll surprise him.

This is getting long....stay tuned for some pics. I'll try to figure out the picture thing soon and get some posted of Kinzi.Bobbi Phillipshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14667207815709571675noreply@blogger.com7
