Christmas in Boise

Todd and I were lucky to be able to take the week before Christmas off and head to Boise to be with family. We left the Thursday before Christmas, hurrying to miss the big storm that was to come through on Friday. (Not sure if it ever came through but who cares, I got to leave work a day early)
We spent the week getting last minute items and spending time with family. Luckily I had finished most of my shopping before we got to Boise, but NOT Todd. He hadn't even started so on Saturday he and his Dad spent the day shopping and then on Monday his sister was nice enough to go with him. (I'm not a big fan of shopping with Todd) He enjoys getting everyone a "UNIQUE" gift, not something they want or would expect. Me on the other hand likes to get everyone what they want and not what they don't want. But he always ends up getting good gifts. I've never been disappointed. Except this year, don't know what he was thinking with the 2 turtle neck sweaters he got me....???? Thank goodness for exchanges. (I still love you though babe, there is always next year to redeem yourself) But I did LOVE everything else you got me!!!! THANK YOU

My mother-in-law had decided to surprise Kinzi and Logan (my sister-in-law Tonya's son) with a play kitchen. So Clancey (my father-in-law) spent around 3 hours putting it together and kept in hidden in their basement for the big surprise on Christmas morning. Well.....it didn't quite work out that way. Kinzi and Logan love to play on the stairs and one afternoon the door to the basement was left open and they of coarse spotted that and headed straight for the basement. Sally had been watching the kids and thought they were playing nicely in the bedroom with all the other toys. I had just finished shopping with my mom and came home and the kids were no where to be found. We looked everywhere. The only possible place for them to have gone was the basement. (But when we looked downstairs the door was closed and neither of them can open doors yet) We decided to take a look anyways, and there they were playing with the kitchen. So we decided to bring it up and let them play with it...

They played with it for at least one hour straight. No fighting or anything. They play so well together. (I hope that will always be the case)
THANKS Grandma Sally for the Best present. I know they both LOVED it.

CHRISTMAS EVE:
We always spend Christmas eve at my parents house for dinner and the exchanging of gifts. There are 15 grandchildren.....need I say more!!!! They are all so excited for opening gifts and doing anything else before hand is rushed and a little crazy. But the time finally came....

All the Grand kids got Christmas ornaments from Great Grandma and Grandpa Guyer as they do every year. They are always so cute. I forgot to get a picture of Kinzi with hers. But we love to get those ornaments. THANK YOU Grandma and Grandpa Guyer. (We missed not having you there) Thank your our gift too....I might just add that to what mom and dad got us.
This year from Mom and Dad we all got gift certificates to WINCO (except Todd and I got ours to Costco) for $200.00 so we could add to our food storage. What a great gift. We all loved getting this. I really need to get my food storage going and organized. I've let it dwindle down to nothing since we were moving. (I didn't want to move it so we ate or used most all of it before we moved) So now I can get started again. THANKS!!!

CHRISTMAS MORNING:
So this Christmas morning wasn't one that ended quite like I had hoped for. Instead of waking at 3:30 in the morning for an excited child that just couldn't wait to see what Santa had brought her.....we woke to a crying little girl who I thought had a little tummy ache and was trying to pass gas. (If only that was the case) Instead we got a little girl who threw up all over the recliner and luckily Todd's gifts and not someone else's. So while Todd and I cleaned up the mess, my sister-in-law Tara and Sally gave Kinzi a bath and got her all cleaned up. Luckily she was done after that but trying to go back to sleep was a little difficult for her. So around 5:30 she finally fell back to sleep.
Needless to say our Christmas morning didn't start until around 10:00. That's when Todd, Kinzi and I decided to wake back up from the long night. Unfortunately that made everyone else wait for us. They were very patient and didn't complain. (well at least not to us they didn't)
We had a great Christmas morning. Thanks Todd for the Camcorder. We can finally get some video of Kinzi. I still can't believe we went almost 3 years without one. I know that is something I'm going to regret when she gets older.

Kinzi checking out wants inside her stocking.....

Kinzi didn't have much energy after opening 1 or 2 gifts and decided to rest on the couch with Gummie and her baby doll that Santa had brought her. She was tired. By 1:00 she was out. She sleep for around 4 hours that afternoon. The poor thing. Both her birthday and Christmas she spent sick for 2008. Hopefully 2009 will be much better for her.
I didn't get any pics of Todd with the Wii I surprised him with. (well at least I hope it was a surprise....he said he had no clue, but I'm not sure if he was just trying to make me feel good)
We had a wonderful time and we're so lucky to have a great family.

KINZI

Over Thanksgiving weekend we had Kinzi's pictures taken. They turned out so cute I thought I'd share a couple of them. (Thanks Eden, you did a fantastic job)

I'm hoping to get some pictures of the house up soon. Todd FINALLY got around to helping me hang some pictures up. If any of my sisters or sister-in-laws (or anyone for that matter) would like to come for a visit and help do some decorating you're more than welcomed. I'm not the best at it and Todd hasn't been much help (plus he's a guy and has some very weird suggestions)
Stay tuned....hope to have some up later this week.

Our New House

We are excited to say we are homeowners again. We closed on the house last Wednesday and got the keys on Thursday. I'm so excited to get in and get settled again. (Minus the moving) We thought for sure we'd be renting through the winter but we just couldn't pass up this house. We first looked at it in July but we hadn't sold our house and it was priced way too high. We got lucky with the market going down and plus the fact that this builder had at least 4 houses they were sitting on.
Once we get settled in I will post more pictures of the house. Looking at empty rooms are just not the same. My awesome in-laws and driving back to SLC on Tuesday to help us move AGAIN. They are the best. They've made the drive every time we've moved to help out. What can I say but Thank You Thank You Thank You!!!!
Stay tuned for more pictures later.

COUSINS!!!

Over Halloween weekend we got to enjoy a fun visit from Travis, Miaaka and their kids. Kinzi loved having them at the house to play with. It's a rare thing to have family in town, it was nice. We always seem to do the traveling so it was nice not to have to drive 5 hours to see family.

Thanks for coming to visit. You are welcome anytime. Plus the next time you come you will not be stuck sharing one room....we'll be in our new home with LOTS of extra space and rooms. YEA!!! I can't wait

Happy Halloween!!

I don't think Halloween is going to be one of Kinzi's favorite holidays. She was NOT a fan of all the costume. Especially those that included hats or masks. She hated her poodle costume too. It freaked her out for the 1st couple days just looking at it. Finally we got her warmed up enough to at least put it on for a few pictures and to visit one house but as soon as we got there she took off the top. Hopefully she'll grow out of this stage. There were so many cute costumes I wanted to buy her but she wouldn't have anything to do with them. So needless to say our halloween was uneventful. As soon as we got home (mind you we only went to 1 house) she was ready for bed. Maybe next year will be a little more exciting.

I hope all of your halloween evening were a little more exciting.

FLU SEASON!?!?

Our precious girl is now snuggling up to her baby with her nice warm blanket in her bed sleeping (makes me want to go join her)....bless her little heart. I hope she's feeling back to her normal soon. I hate seeing her like this.

Tis the season. Kinzi is once again SICK!!! I thought we were through being sick for the year. (She was sick with a viral infection about 3-4 weeks ago and that lasted for a full week) I even got our Flu Shots early this year to avoid getting getting the flu. Well, it didn't work. The poor thing started getting sick again on Sunday as soon as we got home from church. With NO warning she is throwing up. She just can't get a break. At least this time there are no fevers, blisters in and on her month, swollen gums nor sore throats. This time she's been vomiting, not eating (of all things she wants it's a bottle with milk, the worst possible thing) nor can she get comfortable and hasn't been sleeping...and you know what that means...if she doesn't sleep, neither do you. There's nothing fun about having to watch a video at 4:30 A.M....and then deciding after 2 minutes it's not what she wanted and she wants to go back to bed. Then she's out. By that time I'm awake and it takes FOREVER to get back to sleep, and then the process starts all over again. But it's Wednesday and I think she's on the down side of things. She's starting to eat a bit more and she's finally starting to sleep. YEA!!!! She slept through the night last night. (oh I can't tell you how much I love that) I don't handle having to get up numerous times at night cleaning up vomit, then giving her a bath cuz we didn't catch it in time and then having to throw in a load of laundry with all the towels, sheets and pj's that ended up getting dirty. I've lost count at how many loads of laundry that I've done this week and I'm still not done.

Here she is a couple weeks ago with her sores....They were awful!!

(notice her chipped tooth...I have no clue where or when that happened)

Here she is on the couch either watching "The Letter Factory" or "The Little Playdates" she can get enough of watching these videos.

Kinzi and her Babies

As we were leaving for dinner last night with some friends Kinzi, as usual, couldn't leave without her babies. Her arms are barely long enough to hold both babies...she usually ends up dropping one. But heaven forbid we leave the house without them. She's obsessed them.

I finally did it!!

After months of telling myself I was going to start a blog I finally did it. It took selling our house and moving into a rental for me to get internet at home. Yes, you read correctly. Todd and I didn't have internet at home. We haven't for at least 3 years. I know what you're all thinking, how did we survive. We'll to tell you the truth, I'm not sure. But now that we have it at home (we've had it for the last 2 days) I can't believe we went 3 years without it. So now I've got to learn how to download pictures from my camera to my computer and then from the computer to this blog....no telling how long that's going to take. (Hopefully not 3 years)

So Todd and I sold our house. We closed on Monday. YEA!! I'm so glad that part is over, but now the task of finding a house is a little crazy. We've looked at so many houses over the last 3 months that I'm SOOOO sick of looking. But this house we're renting is so small that we've got to find something. We're on top of each other here.

Todd started a new job. He's the head assistant basketball coach at Salt Lake Community College. We're excited for him. It's a great change of pace and something different. And he likes it there so that's all that matters. I'm excited for him. The season starts on the 24th of October. What a great birthday gift for me....I hope he remembers. (I think putting it on the calender will help....I've just got to remind him to look at the calender)

Kinzi is doing great. She is into EVERYTHING. She's the happiest, most easy going baby EVER. I couldn't have asked for a better child. She has finally decided to take a liking to her baby dolls. We can't leave the house without them. She screams the whole time we give her a bath because she can't take them in the tub with her. Todd's not too happy about the attachment to the baby dolls. He's trying to get her to take a liking to the basketball he bought her for christmas last year....needless to say she's not to excited about it. But he's determined to have her LOVE basketball. Maybe one of these days she'll surprise him.

This is getting long....stay tuned for some pics. I'll try to figure out the picture thing soon and get some posted of Kinzi.
